Language
The Italian language is a Romance language derived from spoken Latin, specifically of an archaic Tuscan variant, which managed to impose itself as a language in an area much larger than the dialectal region itself. The Tuscan dialect was spoken in Florence, Pisa and Siena, and from the 16th century onwards, together with Latin, it became the main literary and cultural language, due to the prestige obtained by being the language in which The Divine Comedy, considered the first literary work written in modern language by Dante Alighieri, was written. From the 16th to the 19th century it was, together with Latin, the main language of administration of all the ancient pre-unitary Italian states. In 1861, it remained the official language of an Italy reunified into a single state. After Italian, the second language is Neapolitan (Dialect), which is spoken in Campania and in several neighboring regions of central and southern Italy. Italian is spoken in conjunction with one of its numerous dialects spoken in different geographical areas, most commonly in Southern Italy and in the Northeast, especially in the Veneto region, but only spoken with family and friends.
Italian is a beautiful language with a musical sound and easy to learn. Italians are very proud of their culture, their rich history and the importance of their language, inherited from the ancient Romans.
